Accountancy Europe – das Sprachrohr der WP‘s in Brüssel

Der Zusammenschluss der führenden Berufsorganisationen der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Europa, also ihre Europäische Dachorganisation, nennt sich mittlerweile Accountancy Europe.

Gegenstand der Arbeit ist unter anderem die Veröffentlichung von Studien und Informationen zu fachlichen sowie berufspolitischen Themen einschließlich der Organisation von Veranstaltungen. Ferner stimmt man sich in fachlichen und berufspolitischen Fragen mit den Mitgliedsorganisationen ab. Des Weiteren werden Stellungnahmen unter anderem gegenüber der EU-Kommission und IFAC erstellt. Sie vereinigt 51 berufsständige Organisationen aus 36 Ländern und deren Interessen in Brüssel. An ihrem Sitz sind ca. 25 Mitarbeiter*innen tätig, davon etwa 15 in engem Austausch mit der parlamentarischen Arbeit der europäischen Institutionen. Etwa die Hälfte von ihnen verfügt über entsprechende Akkreditierungen beim Europäischen Parlament. Bis 2016 hatte die Vereinigung noch den Namen Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens (kurz FEE). Sie entstand am 1. Januar 1987 durch den Zusammenschluss der UNION Européenne des Experts-comtables Economique et Financiers (kurz „UEC“) sowie der Groupe d‘Etudes des Experts-comtables (kurz „CEE“), und damit lange bevor Michel Barnier den Berufsstand der Wirtschaftsprüfer durch die sog. „EU-Abschlussprüferreform“ mächtig in Unruhe versetzte.
